News4x4 Response assist PCTs in Pandemic (July 27, 2009)
Working for the Hertfordshire Primary Care Trusts, Hertfordshire 4x4 Response have been instrumental in providing a service for residents of the County suffering from Swine Flu but who have no access to "flu friends" to collect Antivirals on their behalf.
Volunteer drivers have been working alongside NHS staff to make sure anti-virals are delivered when required within 24 hours.
Although not a task that requires a 4x4, the group offers the benefits of a well trained, insured and responsible transport solution in time of emergency when the NHS finds its services under great strain. This use of voluntary support helps the NHS to maintain its day to day services, as does not require to divert essential staff away from normal business. Click here to return to the News page |
