A 4x4 Response Group, what’s that then?So you get to drive around with blue lights and siren? So it’s really just a glorified taxi or courier service? So why is this necessary, surely this is a job for the Civil Authorities? How does it work? Can the public call you out? Hertfordshire 4x4 Response does not respond to direct calls from members of the public. We are only deployed at the request of Local Authorities, Emergency Services or other Voluntary Agencies. In the event of an emergency you should still dial 999 and ask for the emergency services. So to volunteer I need to be available all the time? Social Activities? So it’s not all serious then? So I need a fully kitted out Land Rover then? Will it cost me anything? So do you get any funding from government or elsewhere? |
