A 4x4 Response Group, what’s that then?So you get to drive around with blue lights and siren? So it’s really just a glorified taxi or courier service? So why is this necessary, surely this is a job for the Civil Authorities? How does it work? Can the public call you out? So to volunteer I need to be available all the time? Not necessarily, it is recognised that many people work and are not be able to get time off. If you are unable to respond at any particular time that is fine, it is after all a voluntary activity. If you genuinely can’t commit but are still interested in supporting the Group, then consider becoming a supporting member and you can still take part in social activities and fund raising. Social Activities? So it’s not all serious then? So I need a fully kitted out Land Rover then? Will it cost me anything? So do you get any funding from government or elsewhere? |
